Disability Support : Empowering the Differently-Abled

Birendra Oli, aged 12 and in class 7, both faced significant challenges due to poverty and physical disabilities, which initially forced Birendra to leave school for five years and made education difficult for Shibani, who has no parents. However, their lives transformed when Chay-Ya Nepal constructed a disability friendly hostel in Dang, providing them with a safe and supportive environment to continue their education. Birendra expressed his joy at rejoining school after years of absence, while Shibani found a home and guardianship in the hostel, calling it her family. Along with eight other physically disabled students, they receive essential study materials, entertainment goods, furniture, and care, enabling them to excel academically and achieve high rankings in their classes. Both children, along with the parents of other disabled students, are deeply grateful to Chay-Ya Nepal for the life-changing support, which has also fostered and inclusive environment in their school, free from discrimination. Their stories reflect hope, resilience, and the transformative power of community support.
